How the four services fit together

Most painting projects do not stay inside one category. A kitchen refresh can mean repainting the walls, spraying the cabinets and putting a Roman clay finish on one wall, and you can book all three with Paintzone as a single job.

Keeping them on one contract matters because each kind of work has its own constraint. Interior painting needs access to rooms you are using every day, cabinet work happens in our warehouse, and exterior painting waits on dry weather. Those rarely line up on the same dates, so we schedule the pieces in a workable order instead of running everything at once.

Interior painting for Seattle homes and condos

Interior work covers walls, ceilings, doors, millwork, window trims and door frames, along with minor drywall repairs. We prepare and prime every surface first, and millwork gets an oil primer.

After sanding, we meticulously inspect the surfaces with specialized work lights that reveal dings and cracks that regular room lighting hides. We use durable materials to mask the house and meticulously take care of every detail to ensure an optimal result.

Specialty finishes: limewash, Roman clay and Venetian plaster

Paintzone offers four specialty finishes as part of interior painting.

Venetian plaster

Venetian plaster is built up from limestone or marble in thin layers and polishes to a hard, stone-like surface.

Roman clay

Roman clay is softer and more velvety, with a subtler sheen.

Limewash

Limewash is lime based, with visible movement and texture.

High gloss

High gloss dries to a porcelain-like film, and Paintzone applies it to front doors as well as interior surfaces.

We work with Portola, Fine Paints of Europe and Firenze Color on all four.

Limewash on brick depends on the brick itself. Romabio Classico goes straight onto unpainted, unsealed absorbent brick and stone, but glazed brick, painted stucco and concrete need a bonding primer first.

Exterior painting in Seattle: siding, trim and decks

Outside, Paintzone paints siding, trims, soffits and doors, and stains decks and railings. We also apply the high gloss finish to front doors. We clean and prep every surface before painting, use low-VOC paints, and follow EPA standards.

Weather is the usual reason an exterior date moves. Sherwin-Williams formulates its exterior lines for application down to 35F and asks that the surface stay above the dew point for roughly 48 hours afterward. Dew that settles into a film before it has cured lifts ingredients to the surface as it evaporates, which leaves staining and adhesion problems behind. So we set exterior dates around the forecast for the two days after painting. See also: best time to paint an exterior in Seattle.

Cabinet painting for Seattle homes and businesses

Cabinet work happens off-site, in the Paintzone warehouse. We take the doors out, strip the old paint and finish, unfasten and polish the hardware, and spray on the new finish. We check the work before the cabinets go back in.

Working away from the house gives us control of the working environment and keeps the dust out of your rooms. We paint kitchen, bathroom, office, laundry room, garage, wall, solid wood, frameless and extra large cabinets, in homes and in commercial spaces.

Cabinets also take a different class of coating from walls. Two-component polyurethanes cure by chemical cross-linking rather than by drying, and that is what makes the finish hard enough for a kitchen.

Commercial painting services in Seattle

Paintzone works on warehouses, offices, gyms and fitness centers, religious institutions, medical facilities, retail stores, shopping centers and museums. Commercial jobs get the same interior and exterior scope as residential ones, prepared and primed the same way. Specialty finishes are available on commercial interiors too, so a lobby wall can take Roman clay or limewash.

In a working building, communication and hours matter more than they do in a house, so we keep you updated through the job and can work after hours.

How to check a painting contractor before you sign

Before you hire anyone, including us, check the registration. Washington contractors register with L&I, and you can look up registration status, bond, workers' compensation and any legal actions at Lni.wa.gov/Verify.

Paintzone is on that register as a construction contractor, license number PAINTL*811QD, Washington UBI 604 513 060. Registration is active through 7 December 2027.

The EPA's Renovation, Repair and Painting rule covers housing built before 1978, and anyone paid to disturb paint on those properties has to work for a certified firm. Paintzone is certified to work with lead paint.

We hired Paintzone to apply a Roman clay finish to our fireplace in Kirkland. They turned an ordinary fireplace into a beautiful focal point that completely elevated the look and feel of our living space. The texture, depth, and natural movement of the Roman clay give it a timeless, sophisticated look that photos don’t even fully capture. Their attention to detail and passion for their craft were evident from start to finish. If you’re looking for skilled artisans who specialize in high-end decorative finishes, I can’t recommend Paintzone enough. We absolutely love our new fireplace and will definitely be using them again for future projects!

Andrei and team did a killer job on a tight schedule repainting our new house's kitchen cabinets! They were a dated Tuscany-style distressed dark cream, and I picked a green and a taupe for different parts of the kitchen. They also replaced the hardware. What a difference! Before and after pics below. I even had them repaint the green because I picked one that was too bright, and they were very accommodating. When the selling agent came to our housewarming she was blown away! Still need to redo tile and counters but this is already so much better. Don't hesitate to use Paintzone, I will be using them for future jobs for sure!

Love how these Roman clay accent wall turned out. The texture adds so much depth without being too busy. Andrei and his team did a very good job. (I skipped the sealer for a more matte look, highly recommended!)
