Paintzone is a locally owned Seattle painting company, and the Sammamish plateau is a regular destination, from Klahanie, Pine Lake and Beaver Lake to Trossachs, Sahalee, Inglewood Hill and the streets around Sammamish Commons. We paint interiors and exteriors, stain decks and fences, refinish kitchen cabinets, paint commercial buildings, and do limewash and plaster work ourselves.

Interior painting
The interior service covers:
- minor drywall repairs
- wallpaper removal
- surface preparation and priming
- walls and ceilings
- baseboards, crown molding, wainscoting, window trim, door trim and doors, brushed or sprayed
- off-site spraying for doors and larger millwork
- color consultation and interior color scheme matching
Walls and ceilings get Sherwin-Williams or Benjamin Moore, Farrow and Ball when you want that palette, and millwork that should have a furniture-grade finish gets Fine Paints of Europe enamel.
Where a house predates 1978, we test for lead before any sanding. Paintzone is an EPA-certified firm.
Exterior painting
Treed lots mean shade, moss and siding that dries slowly, so we wash and prime with that in mind, and we replace rotted trim before paint. The exterior service covers:
- pressure washing
- lead testing
- surface preparation for paint adhesion
- siding, trim, soffits, shutters and exterior doors
- solid, semi-solid and semi-transparent stains on decks and fences
- varnish or clear coat on exterior doors, shutters and other exterior wood
Why a shaded deck wants an oil stain
Under the plateau's tree cover, decks stay damp longer than siding, and a film-forming stain on damp horizontal wood blisters and peels. A penetrating oil behaves differently. It soaks into the fibers and weathers by wearing thin, so a worn patch takes a quick recoat instead of a strip back to bare wood. We use Armstrong Clark for that reason. Siding is the opposite case. There an acrylic film that flexes and resists mildew is the better product.
Commercial painting in Sammamish, WA
We paint commercial buildings on the plateau too, in the retail and offices around Sammamish Commons and Pine Lake Village, clinics and restaurants. The commercial service covers:
- interiors for warehouses, retail stores, offices, restaurants and museums
- exteriors for storefronts and multi-story buildings
- wood siding, stucco and metal surfaces
- accent walls
Whether the building stays open while we paint is the first question at the walkthrough. It decides the phasing, the daily protection and the hours. A vacant unit is a shorter job.
Cabinet painting: kitchens and built-ins
Painting the cabinets is the alternative to replacing a kitchen. It makes sense when the doors and boxes are sound and only the finish is wrong. The cabinet service covers:
- painting existing cabinets
- painting new cabinets
- refinishing oak, maple, cherry, alder and other cabinet woods
- off-site spraying and refinishing
- high-gloss application
Doors and drawer fronts come off and are sprayed in our shop with Milesi or Renner two-component polyurethane. It cures by chemical reaction into a film far harder than wall paint, and the boxes get sprayed where they hang, with the room masked off. Vanities and built-ins take the same finish.
Specialty finishes
Roman clay and limewash are both matte and hand-applied, and they are often confused. Limewash shows more movement and cloudiness and belongs on masonry and plaster. Roman clay gives a smoother troweled surface on interior walls.
Limewash
A mineral finish for masonry and plaster.
Roman clay
Troweled on for a matte, slightly irregular surface.
Tadelakt
A lime plaster used in showers and other wet areas.
Venetian plaster
Burnished to a polished finish with visible depth.
We also do microcement, French wash and high-gloss enamel on doors and millwork. Every one of these finishes is applied by hand and no two come out the same, so ask for a sample before you commit a room.

Sammamish painting FAQs
Do you work in Sammamish?
Yes, across the plateau, from Klahanie, Pine Lake and Beaver Lake to Trossachs, Sahalee, Inglewood Hill and Sammamish Commons. The shop itself is in Seattle, at 600 W Olympic Pl #503.
Do you take commercial and HOA work in Sammamish?
Commercial, yes. Retail, offices, clinics and restaurants, interior and exterior. Ask us about HOA common areas and clubhouses.
My lot is shaded and the deck keeps failing. What should go on it?
Most likely a penetrating oil. Under trees a deck stays damp, and a film stain on damp horizontal wood blisters and peels. Oil soaks in and wears instead. We use Armstrong Clark for this.
Should I paint my cabinets or reface them?
Painting keeps your doors and changes the finish. Refacing replaces the door and drawer fronts. Sound boxes and a door style you like point to painting. If the doors are the problem, paint will not fix that.
Do you repair wood rot?
Yes. Carpentry is part of the exterior service, and it happens before primer.
Which paints do you use on an exterior?
Sherwin-Williams exterior acrylics on siding and trim, Armstrong Clark oil on decks and fences, and Fine Paints of Europe enamel on front doors that should shine.
How to check a painting contractor before you sign
Before you hire anyone, including us, check the registration. Washington contractors register with L&I, and you can look up registration status, bond, workers' compensation and any legal actions at Lni.wa.gov/Verify.
Paintzone is on that register as a construction contractor, license number PAINTL*811QD, Washington UBI 604 513 060.
The EPA's Renovation, Repair and Painting rule covers housing built before 1978, and anyone paid to disturb paint on those properties has to work for a certified firm. Paintzone is certified to work with lead paint.
